RAGNAR-Del Sol 2012

There's something so magical about Ragnar
I can't wait for it to be over, but never want it to end.
Doesn't seem to make sense, does it?
Until you do it...

We were Van 2 this year.
My first experience with being Van 2.
It was a nice change.

After a full nights sleep,
I woke up,
Got the kids off to school,
Showered,
Packed,
Waited for April & Darbie (Debbi, Brent and Paul were already here)
Dropped Drake off,
Then casually drove 30 minutes to our starting point...
Which was at Noon...
HOT, DUSTY MID DAY!
Oh, Dan!  How we LOVED our "More Cowbell" mascott.

Rae @ RAGNAR

All of the teams left their mark on the RAGNAR car.

A little Pre-Race modeling shoot...

"Here I am, Darbie!  Pick me!  Pick me!!!"

Chatting with this yellow-shirted gal made our 5+ miles of hot desert run more enjoyable.

Paul and I not only handed off the RAGNAR bracelet, but also the GARMIN.
Go, Paul!  Go!
Of course he killed it!  He's a Rock Star!

Debbi was our caboose.  Runner 12.  Now it was time to get some dinner (Thanks, Subway), go HOME (that was a first), shower and sleep (yeah, right!  But at least we were able to lay down in our own bed.)

Our night run exchange.

"I told you to SHHHH!  People are trying to sleep!"
(Ha ha...I love the expression on my face, but can't remember AT ALL what I was saying.)
And did you notice the Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies in my hand?
Yes, my good friend Jennifer Nichols stopped by to give us some fuel.  What a thoughtful friend!

I love handing off to Paul!  One of these days, maybe we'll buy a 2nd good running reflective vest so we don't have to perform a full wardrobe change every time we exchange.)

Our night runs were done.  It was 6 am.  No one had slept for a full 24 hours.  Add 2 runs to NO sleep and we were all a little tired.

But not too tired for some yummy IHOP.

No matter what he tries to tell you, I did NOT encourage this behavior!

Darbie is DONE!!!  She was awesome!  Now for my 3rd and final run...

Proud to be American

Let Freedom Ring...
These little boys LOVE having the flag in our front yard!
They request seeing the picture after we take it.
The first one wasn't good enough because the whole flag wasn't in it.
This one wasn't good enough because the whole flag wasn't shown blowing in the wind.

This one met all of their strict criteria.

Self Confidence

(I wish I possessed 1/10 of this little boys self confidence)
